The under seat relay is grounded by an external wire from terminal 85, to under the mounting screw. The one under the dash is grounded off terminal 85 thru the wire harness, and to a single connector over the front of the engine. This connector is marked as #20 in the FI wiring diagrams in the Bentley manual. These connector can get messed with when engine work is done. We used to use this connector to turn the pump on and off when trouble shooting the FI system in the shop. -- Russ Wolfe '66 FB MT '71 FB AT '65 Bug (not running) russw@classicvw.org http://www.classicvw.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
