Is this a 1.7L and up bus with dual carbs?? Or is it a single carb
engine.
I personally just use the stock new gaskets with no sealants. If
everything is right, you shouldn't need any. The factory didn't.
Dual port T-3's have a paper gasket. Dual port T-1's have a tin gasket.
Single port engines have a fiber filled copper or tin o'ring. 1.7L Bus
engines had a bakelite type heat insulator type gasket between the
intake and the head.
