> 1. Tell you wife you're buying another car. Hiding things is lame. > 2. Buy it. > 3. Sell one of your other ones. > 4. Live happily ever after in Euro '66 land. No. 4 sounds really good... I'm going to look at it today. Stay tuned... > Moving up to a better car is always a good idea. I agree. > I disagree with the "Well, you bought a ring" argument. I prefer the "This car > is a good deal. I should buy it. Even if it doesn't work out, I can sell it > for more money later." Ya, I agree, I wouldn't normally use something she bought as a bargaining chip. After 15 years of marrage, it seems like a pathetic way to persuade someone. She actually brought up the fact that she bought a ring, and that it would be fair for me to get something too. I was going to buy a new sandrail frame, but then ran across the '66. I still haven't convinced her that the all original'63 Notchback (yes, it was all original at when I got it) was an investment at $400. Which came with *extra* strait, unrusted, rear fenders (2), doors (2) and a (1) hood... She's pretty cool about this stuff, especially If it's running car.
