Yeah it was done in the 80's by a guy in the army while stationed in N.C. It
was his only car, so the shop had to work around his schedule. He started
working on it there, then got transferred, but took the car with him. This car was
featured in Hot VWs magazine, and I remember seeing it, thinking why did he
convert it to right hand drive. He had a removable tailgate for the back for
use when the top was off. It really was a nice car, that someone spent a lot of
time on.
