That relay is the FI Main Power relay. If it doesn't have power then nothing 
related to the FI should work. Does your fuel pump still run? It shouldn't, 
even if your starter wires are mixed up. If the pump still runs then either 
there is a short in the wires, or something in the brain is damaged. Disconnect 
the brain and see if the pump still runs. If the pump still runs with the brain 
out, then there is a problem in the wiring related to the fuel pump relay 
(that's the one under the dash.)

I don't think that ring lug was really all that bad. Yes, it was ugly, but it 
looked to me like it was still adequate.
