Your resistance values seem just a bit high, but I suspect that the problem is in your meter, rather than in the PS. You should also measure infinity between ground and any pin. If yours is a 70-73, turn the ignition ON and go to the engine. Push the throttle open while you listen. Each time you push the throttle down you should hear a series of clicks. Do you hear these clicks? Carefully disconnect the 3 pin plug from the side of the distributor. Use an Ohmmeter to connect between the middle pin on the dist and one side pin. Have a friend crank the engine with the starter. You should see the resistance alternate between very high and very low. Repeat the test between the center pin and the other side. If all these tests come out okay, get a pressure gauge and check the fuel pressure while the pump is running. You may have to jumper around the fuel pump relay to keep the pump running while you do this test. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
