	Ok, answering my own question -- the seller reports to me:

''I talked to Guy [seller's husband] and he said that he bought the bag directly from the Volkswagen dealer he worked for in Worthinton, Ohio. The dealership no longer exists, it was called Volkswagen North.''

	Guess that answers that!
