In general, any resistance at all means they are okay. You have to try to push them quickly. A dead one will move as easily quickly as slowly, while a good one gets harder the faster you try to move it. > Obviously I have other things to get to right now, but > do people replace torsion bars with new ones that > aren't "tired?" Old ones can be reset as long as they are not cracked, but cracks are hard to find until they crack all the way thru. Fronts crack MUCH more often than rears. The rears almost never fail. If you have yours out, note that L & R are different and are marked L & R. If you get them in backwards they will fail quickly. > Or is it totally fine to just readjust them (something > I am actually going to leave to someone else when the > time comes)... Unless yours are rusty, they should be fine to just readjust. - Jim Adney Madison, WI USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
