Check out www.thesamba.com classifieds and you will find a good average of what they're going for, but keep in mind 50-75% of those might be high-side as well. $3500 is a lot of bread for a 67 with rotten pans and a bad motor. Depending on where you are in the US, at the most you could probably get one in better shape from the west coast for $2500 or thereabouts and have it shipped East. Steven's statement about emotion should be one of the five or ten commandments of VW purchasing. I made a big mistake with my first aircooled VW (a bug that was a rustbucket) and my wallet lived to regret it. If you're buying this because it's conveniently located, or something like that, that's one thing. However, if you really want a Type 3 you can keep, the right one will come along. You just have to keep your eyes open and it will be there. It's tough, I know... :) Good luck! ===== -------------------------------------------- 1971 FI AT Squareback http://www.tiserves.com/VW/ vw_variant71@yahoo.com -------------------------------------------- __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
