Clean & lube. Cheap approach is to squirt alcohol in there followed by a spray lube, WD-40 would work. Have a towel handy to catch the drips before they hit the floor. Another possibility is that the key is not quite the right cut anymore, probably from excessive wear or a poorly made copy. Try another key under the same circumstances, and if it works well, then make copies from it and toss the bad key. They make graphite powder for lubing locks, but if you don't clean out what is already making it sluggish, you will just be adding more gunk to mess up the works. Of course the right fix is to remove and clean properly and then re-lube. Jeff '67 Sqbk -----Original Message----- I have a cold weather problem with my square. I can get the key in the ignition but I can't get it to turn. I end up having to reinsert the key about 20 times before I can get it to turn. Has anyone else had a similar problem and what was the fix? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
