On the way home from work last week I noticed the car started skipping a little. First thing I thought of was that the fuel filter might be getting clogged as I know I had a slightly rusty tank. I promised it a full tune-up when I got back from NH. So when I started it to check the dwell after adjusting the valves, I noticed a gas smell. Under the front of the car was a puddle of gasoline. At first I thought the problem was the gas feed hose to the tunnel, so I replaced it with American 5/16" FI hose. I turned the car back on and the top of the hose was wet. Didn't look anywhere near as bad as before (gas wasn't running down the hose), but it's still leaking. I think the clamp is pretty tight. It's a circular FI hose clamp. My next thought is that the line is broken/rusted in the tunnel, or there's a hole in it that only leaks under pressure. What is the likelihood of this and how tough is it to replace this line? I guess I won't be taking the car to Octoberfest this weekend. :( ===== Aaron Clow - http://www.tiserves.com/VW/ '71 FI AT Square - On the Road '71 FI AT Fasty - Off the Road '71 AT Square - the Parts Bin __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
