That's pretty normal for this side of the pond, though the German club cars were mostly higher spec. The three cargo area panels on my 1600A (normal UK lower spec import) are hardboard like the door panel, but cut out from a sheet pre-laminated with vinyl (grey on mine). The edges are visible; there is no wrap round padded vinyl on them. The side trim panels by the seats in '70s models are like the higher spec with the thick wrap-round vinyl, but no map pocket, and only one rear ashtray (I think the L spec has two, one each side, don't they?). Parts of my load area panel are 'de-laminating' and the vinyl layer is wrinkling as it shrinks - I can sympathise. ;-) Dave.
