Re: [T3] T4 Conversion

Hi Guy,
The mating a T-4 to a T-1 trans is very simple. There are several ways,
the pilot shafts being the hardest. Buy an adaptor flywheel the most
expensive.

So the best and the least expensive. Get a T-4 bus flywheel and clutch and
disc. 210 215 mm are the easist to install. OK the Bearing question. As
you know the T-1 pilot shaft is not long enough to reach the T-4 Crank. So
you take the bearing that is in the crank and fit it into the T-4 flywheel.
Sometimes it just presses in or you may have to do some slight machining.
That's it. It is like a stock bolt up after that. NOTE:---- Depending on
the Year Car you many need a Throw out Bearing guide, which is a stock VW
part.
Go to my site http://home.att.net/~nextgen and read the UPDATE
Buy the manual -- if you have a problem being in the UK. Aircooled.net will
accept credit cards for the manual. In the long run you will same time and
money.

John-- Remember my Plate light being out!! Well amazing I got home. When I
did some timing I must have loosened the connections at the 12v side of the
coil. The wires were almost off. That would have been fun in the dark.
Will I push it back on and all is well.
