All 73s sold in the US were FI. The FI engine has a round air cleaner that feeds a central air distribution chamber thru a right-angle rubber elbow. This central chamber thsn has a pair of large steel pipes running to each side. If you don't see these, then your engine has been converted to carbs and there's no way for us to tell you what you have. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
