Hello all... I just moved the family out from Oakland to Pleasant Hill this past week... and still had the time to go back and fix my oil cooler leak! Anyway, I actually had to refix the oil leak since I forgot to tighten down the oil cooler bolts while holding the nuts below with a wrench. Doh! Got her back together, checked the timing, and she runs like crap!
First, I got a 68 square with FI and a newer ('72) long block. I can hear a vacuum leak somewhere and black smoke coming from the exhaust leads me to believe there is an air leak in the fuel system. Not to mention no power at all. What should I check?! She ran great before I pulled her apart for the oil leak.
While I was in there, I replaced the oil cooler seals (obviously), the oil/dipstick boot, the air cleaner to body bellows, the large air bellows, new plugs, new wires, new cap and rotor. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
