hi all just earlier tonight i was driving across town to drop something off. It was dark so i had the lights on. To begin with, the car, a 71 fastback-carburettored, started perfectly. I arrived at my destination and stayed for about 20 mins. Then when i left, the engine turned over really slowly, but eventually it started. I was planning on picking up something on the way home but decided to go straight home and see whether it would start again and if so make another trip. However, I got home, stopped the car, switched all acc. off, then tried to restart-It hardly turned over and would not start despite being very warm (ext temp tonight about 15C, 60sF?). So no go- my battery has completely flattened itself in this small trip. BTW, my battery is about 10 months old. The generator light was not illuminated when i was driving, though it does come on when i turn the key, just like it should. Any ideas about what my problem might be? thanks Andrew Davidson Mel;bourne Australia ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
