It's an easy thing to overlook, but the lack of a second click in a car from 
that year points to this as one thing that really has to be checked.

Yes, this will make a HUGE difference in everything about your car's operation 
and fuel economy. If your plugs have been in there a long time you may also 
need to change them, because they may be all filled with carbon. The only other 
car I found with this problem was one in which I could barely see the center 
insulator due to the carbon buildup.
