Gets rid of all those old coffee stains darkening the pot. Rinse thoroughly afterward. I've never tried the salt/lemon juice on carpet though. There used to be a great product, CLEAR MAGIC available in the automotive section, but I personally have been unable to find it locally for a couple of years. It was far better than Simple Green. As to someone's suggestion of using CLR on it, I have a bottle of CLR here, and it say Do Not use it on fabrics. And for washing windows, just use your normal window cleaner, but instead of wiping it off with a cloth or paper towel, use crumpled up newspaper. It will not leave streaks.
