How do I get them out, anyone know? > Consulting my '57 edition of Pears Cyclopaedia, in the Housewifery section it says to remove iron mould (rust) use a warm solution of oxalic acid or salts of lemon (1/2 teaspoonful to 1/2 (Imp) pint of water - ie 300mls or 10 ozs). After a few minutes rinse thoroughly. Test a hidden corner first. Repeat the treatment as necessary. Take care, oxalic acid, (COOH)2 IIRC, is poisonous. I'm not sure what salts of lemon is, but I think it may be citric acid. No guarantees, but those housewives weren't stupid. ;-) Ah those were the days! BTW if you need advice on ironing, laundering, or looking after poultry, I have info here on those as well. Dave.
