Well, I finally called Berg about the disappearing clearance on the 1 2 head valves. These being Berg supplied genuine VW heads I was quite miffed... Tim said that they may be able to "Repair" them, or replace the seats. Anybody ever see a seat that has mushroomed out? didnt think this was possible with hardened steel or cast... Are they pulling my leg here? If its the aluminum that is pounding in how is it possible to repair such an occurance? Im Quickly losing my Warm N Fuzzy that I paid $$$ for!! They also want me to pull both heads for them to check,,, any reason I should break apart the side that is holding valve adjustments so perfectly? Time is money too and since there is no budget for any major Notch work anymore Im not inclined to touch something that aint broke! This is the kinda thing that keeps me wanting stock engines... Im having troubles with such a mild 1679 imagine if I had built more? At least it looks like the T4 conversion for the Square will let me have my cake and devour it too, so long as I keep that engine stock.
