I don't like it myself. I'd rather pull the motor and tear it down and fix 
the real problem rather than kludge something like this. From the sounds of 
things, it seems the rings are stuck in their grooves (loss of compression), or 
the valves are sticking (loss of compression), and I'd rather know which one it 
really is.
