Driving east, it's always nicer to start out late so you don't have the sun in your eyes. The down side is that all the motels may be full by the time you want to stop. Driving west, it works well to start out early in the morning and stop early for the night. But if you're really going to make the drive, it's worthwhile to do a lot of driving in some kind of daylight, if only because you get to see a lot of very nice scenery. It would be a shame to drive clear across the US and not see a bit of it. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
