[T3] metal shavings

Greetings & salutations, I was cleaning my oil strainer yesterday and out
comes a bunch of metal shavings/chips, about 4 of varying sizes the biggest
was about 1/4" across and maybe 1/64 in thickness, almost like pices of
sheet metal, and greyish in color. Whats the read on the such a symptom? Is
a valve seat disintegrating on me here?
