If the charging system is not working it will be too rich. If the little short hose to the pressure switch is not connected it will be too rich. Make sure you have enough ATF, and that the vacuum modulator hose is connected on both ends. It might also just be a shift cable that is misadjusted, or it could also be a problem with the lever on the end of the shift shaft, inside the AT.
