There were some British sports cars with wire wheels that had to use tubes because the rims weren't airtight. You can use the tubes with tubeless or tube type tires. The only difference between the 2 is that the tube type have an extra layer of butyl rubber which is less air permeable than the rubber used in the rest of the tire. In the old days, I even heard of some particularly cheap owners who bought tube type radials for $2 less each, and just planned on adding air a couple times a week. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
