I don't have the "correct vac modulator or the dizzy", but I do have the special carb pivot w/ incorporated kick down switch. I'm also using a different dizzy than most, as mine is for a type 1 application in my wife's car. This has both vac and mechanical advance, and has been driven on both highway and in the city getting about 24mpg combined driving. On the freeway only, it gets 27mpg, and in the city only, it gets 21.5 mpg. It will auto shift from 1st into 2nd at 12 to 15 mph, and at about 28 if using light throttle, but if held down these change to about 20 and 45 doing some spirited driving.
