Ok, Ok, you got me. I don't have the "correct vac modulator or the dizzy",
but I do have the special carb pivot w/ incorporated kick down switch. I'm also
using a different dizzy than most, as mine is for a type 1 application in my
wife's car. This has both vac and mechanical advance, and has been driven on
both highway and in the city getting about 24mpg combined driving. On the
freeway only, it gets 27mpg, and in the city only, it gets 21.5 mpg. It will auto
shift from 1st into 2nd at 12 to 15 mph, and at about 28 if using light
throttle, but if held down these change to about 20 and 45 doing some spirited driving.
