That seems (to me) to be a bit steep, even if it *is* a '97. We had a new clutch put into my wife's '89 W/C Cabriolet (A1 platform) last year, and it was ~$550-$600 total, including the unexpected replacement of a CV axle. Is this quote from the dealer, or an independant garage?
