Since this is the only Type 3 VDO tach I've seen, I can't answer that. I
would assume they were probably all 6 volt until around '67, then they
probably started going 6/12 volt. Anyone else out there have an original??

The VDO tach's capacity for either 6 volt or 12 volt is a nice feature.
Were all the original VDO tachs for Type 3s made this way or is this an
unusual one?
