Re: [T3] [OT] hopping mad

<x-flowed>Aaron,

Front wheel drive transaxle clutch jobs are expensive - even on American cars. I've been there. They typically run 3 times the cost of a rear wheel drive/separate transmission setup. If you think $1,000 is high, try a front wheel drive automatic - even more.

Sorry for the bad news,

Please forgive me for the off-topic post, but I'm
looking for a little help (please e-mail me offlist if
you have any idea)...

Does anyone think $1000 for a replacement clutch on a
97 Jetta is anywhere near reasonable?

And if I *EVER* happen to mention that I'm thinking
about buying a new-model VW, PLEASE someone shoot
me... Seriously... I'm going all-aircooled as soon as
possible. Time to pick up an old beater beetle for my
winter/salt car.

Steamed as much as I can possibly be,
Aaron
