Well, installing the beetle gen is actually a bad idea. It doesn't have the
correct cooling air hole in it that the type3 needs. Note: this hole is for
cooling the generator. If the battery was installed incorrectly, then both the
generator and the regulator could have been zapped. You might also want to
check the rest of the electrical system for faults. If you're going to use what
you've already bought, then polarize it like the directions say, then install
it, and try it out and let us know. I hope this helps.
