This is the OE simplex MC, right? I don't know how you could get the reservoir 
to overflow. Any chance you got a seal in there backwards?  Any chance you 
didn't get the right parts kit? (The kits are often brand specific. I don't 
know if there are 2 choices for 65, but I wouldn't be surprised.)  

Have you been getting fluid out of each wheel? If not, unscrew a fitting 
somewhere and see if you can get fluid out at intermediate points.

Are the brakes on each wheel adjusted?  

Did you recenter the brake shoes and readjust them when you adjusted them?
