Has anyone on the list done any repairs to rusting bulkhead? around the fresh air intake in the front of a 71 notch or other T3. I think I made a mistake in trying to find the source of waterleak inside under the dash. Anyway I found it in the air intake, clogged with nice eucalypt leaves circa 1973, these haven't totally rotted and has formed a nice pad of compost for water retention and rust to get a hold. I started by dismantling the fan housing inside to expose the real problem of leaves etc. I had a look under the bonnet and made the mistake of scatching at some rust bubbles on the airintake bulkhead. Real mistake, the paint was the only thing holding the metal/rust together. Has anyone on the list taken on this sort of rust repair. I have thought of cutting out a "window" 25cm wide and using a removable cover ?fiberglass or metal with a rubber seal so that it can be accessed in the future. Any ideas?
