IT'S ALIVE! IT'S ALIVE! After sitting in my garage gathering dust for about 8 years, today I drove my 65 sqaureback around the block for the first time. What a rush! It starts on a dime and runs as smooth as glass. I finally got off my assets and now I can work towards being street legal. A tremendous thank you to Toby Erkson for his alternator conversion. If you have been thinking of doing it, down load his directions and it's a weekend install. (the hardest part was finding the Nippondenso part number. And the alternator belt was 39.5" if you can't find the good year part.) I now have two questions for the list. First, I have lowered the front end 2 notches. What tire size should I get? The stock tires rub the fenders a little. I would like a wide tire but not too low a profile. Second I need to work on the floor of the car. I have a battery hole that I will fix with a new tray . The rest of the floor is in good shape just needs cleaning. I have seen mentioned on the list a certain chemical compound that was used on floors that reinforces or just solidifies it.(some type of plastic?) Can anyone tell me the name of it?
