My 71-74 Without Guesswork shows the AT trannys to be from type 1s from August 
72 with 8:31 final drive, and the DC trannys to be from type 3s from 0 231 799 
(tranny number, I think) with an 8:33 final drive.

Sounds like you got them switched around in your head....

I don't see any info at all on tranny serial numbers in the parts microfilm. Am 
I just not looking in the right place?
