With the discussions lately about gear ratios, I decided to see what the 2 manual trannies were that I got in a bunch of stuff. I hadn't paid much attention to them. What I discovered is that one of the trannies is a T-3. The holes for the bell housing motor mounts are plugged. The other is tranny is a later T-1 as it has the late T-1 motor mounts still attached, and has the single side cover and the sleeve T/O brg mount for the late clutch. This tranny is missing the front shift housing, but I am pretty sure that it has been installed on the other one. Does anyone have a listing of the serial numbers up to the end on Manual Trannies. I looked on TheSamba, and it doesn't go all the way. Mine are: AT 31 01 4 (T-3 trans) DC 02447 31 (T-1 trans) The spaces in the type are as they are on the trannies. -- Russ Wolfe '66 FB MT '71 FB AT '65 Bug (not running) russw@classicvw.org http://www.classicvw.org ------------------------------------------------------------------- List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
