[T3] Ready for Sacramento!

Well, my baby gave me 10 good miles of driving, both city and highway, without
a hitch! So tomorrow I will retorque the right head (remember, I had the #2
intake valve replaced) and perform a complete valve adjustment. She's a tad
slow than what I'd like off the line but that's probably because I'm used to
my Jetta. The engine definitely wants to rev past 5000rpm but I can't do that
until I get dual springs in the heads :-( But she has get-up-and-go!! Small
amount of backfiring during deceleration, followed by loud burbling...if I had
a real muffler I'm sure she wouldn't be nearly as loud ;-)

The CompuFire ignition is working great even though I'm running stock 0.028"
plug gap (0.050" is the recommended gap 8-D ). I will take the stock
ignition system w/me, just in case because I'm all paranoid (easily fit under
the back seat). To clean up the octopus of wiring from the old coil (terminal
15 sure gets a lot of business!) I installed a fuse block with six, modern
blade-style fuse terminals. The ignition simply hits a relay and it then
routes power from the alternator + terminal to the fuse block. Makes things
muuuuch easier to check out and disable if necessary -- clean looking, too!

So this Saturday be sure to focus your gaze on I-5 southbound as Brian in his
purple Notchback and I in my orange Squareback zip down to Sac.
