I don't remember saying that... :-). The 2.0 longblock, yes. Big is good. The 1.7 heads, not really. There are a lot more than just three head varieties out there, all with minute differences that, after you're done doing the work you want to them, may be meaningless. The only stock castings I like significantly more than others are the Porsche 914 2.0 heads. The 1974-75 1.8 bus heads are commonly used simply because they are available new. Many race heads are made from these, too, just because they are new (of course, by the time you do porting and valve size changes, "1.8" is totally irrelevant).
