No harm at all. Removing it will create an extremely tiny air leak in thru the 
nozzle which is part of the intake air distributor cover. You could just plug 
the hose, or ignore it. I don't think you would ever know there was a leak. The 
FI will adjust for it just fine, and you'll adjust out any effect with the idle 
adjustment.
