Re: [T3] DDB dismantling recipe?

<x-flowed>>1st-----the easy stuff.
2-------motor / tranny
3--------glass
4-------undo pan ...remove body-
5-------Front clip (if salvageable) / Rear apron
6------cut off roof, at the posts..[.we keep this as it great sheet metal]
7-----If the heater channels are good we take those,

Yup, Same process we use so far.

Once the channels are out you have a front and rear section we usually cut
them in half (as if you cutting down the center)..This will leave you 4
large sections that most scrap yards will take with no problem.

I have actually fed these 1/4 sections to the local garbage truck. 1/4 per week. Much to the Garbage men's surprise (and somewhat enjoyment) it chews it up just fine. But now I've found a metal salvage yard that will PAY ME for the metal! 8D

(but still
toss the tunnel)

I however try to keep the less rusty tunnels because they stack easily and are a great body dolly for off chassis restorations that you can wheel around when you need to.

We have this down to a 2 day window from start to
finish It is a done deal in 2 days..

Yeah, 2-days is right, if you're not in a hurry. I've done it in one Saturday with my crew, but we were really cramped for time. I had to have it GONE by Sunday Morning.

As a side note we have only dismantled cars that have no real hope of ever
being road worthy again , the cars have been in accidents/ abandoned /
partly stripped, rusty buckets

... wrong color, too stock, too original, late model, ...

just kidding

;D
