[T3] more on the motor swap
<x-flowed>the notchback was out and about this afternoon. the GEX motor is
running okay... but as a 'turnkey' less exhaust, i expected more. the
engine DOES NOT have air flaps and the lower engine tin looks to be of 2
different styles. i have to admit that i seldom run the flaps, but i
would expect a professional motor shop to install them. also, it is a
stroker motor... be it a mild stroke, with no full flow done to it.
again, i scratch my head at this. anyway, those looking to buy a
turnkey motor from somewhere, remember... it is a type 1 world. when
this motor is done with it's like, i will try to do a detailed tear down
and see what failed and why. i admit to not having confidence that it
will last, as i have torn down 4 different gex engines and found builder
error inside. maybe this one will be different as it was built in the
last 2 years and the others were all 3+ years ago. anyway, after
driving the 1500sp for 5+ months and not being able to spin the tires
(even in the rain) it was a nice treat today to lay a 6ft patch of
rubber, accelerate up my driveway instead of just climb it and to pull
into traffic at speed!
