If you want to sell an item and the lowest you'll go is $100, then you can set the 'buy it now' and the reserve to the same thing. This insures that you get at least $100 bucks for the item. If someone would bid $2 on the item the 'Buy it Now' would go away and nobody would know the reserve price. I think ISP puts a buy it now on everything, letting everyone know that this item is in stock at their store and you don't have to do the normal bidding on eBay, you can just buy it now or call and buy it. Mostly I think they use ebay to advertise the parts they have, the 'buy it now' just like a price tag at the store (as is the reserve).
