Hello- I have 16x9 wheels with 245/45/16 tires (10.2" width) in the rear of my Fastback. :-) They fit without requiring the fenders to be flared. Of course, there were several other strings I had to pull... The 16x7 wheels with 205/55/16 tires (8.7" width) in the front fit without too much of a hitch, though. Just be wary of offsets. Note that wheel width has a LOT to do with overall tire width, perhaps even moreso than the size of the tire itself. Case-in-point: 225 tires on my rear 9" rims (a 20mm = 0.8" decrease in tread width) only gave a 0.3" decrease in overall width. What size rim do you have? If you still have stock 4.5" rims, then although 195 tires will fit, they will decrease your handling ability. Trust me - BTDT. Sidewall flex sucks. Get 175 tires and be happy.
