The screws used with the late hinge covers are just normal sheet metal screws. I don't know what was used with the early 1-piece cover, but my guess is that they were the same. When I took possession of my brand new 68 I found a drill bit that had fallen down under the rear rubber mat. It was stuck in a corner and took quite an effort to get it out, but when I did I discovered that it was a metric bit. It must have been dropped there on the assembly line, so I think there is evidence for those just being center marks to be drilled out later, if necessary. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ------------------------------------------------------------------- List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
