Re: [T3] Valve cover leaking

<x-flowed>Personally, I would just use a little bit of perm-a-gasket or similar to fill in the scratches. I know some people here says not necessary or simply not to do it, but I've never had a problem doing it. YMMV of course.

My passenger side valve cover on my '65 has leaked since I bought it. I
tried a few things like a new valve cover gasket, tightening the bail, etc..
It reduced the flow but it still leaks a little.

The leak is 2-3" away from the bottom front corner of the head, under the
#1 cylinder.

I was looking at it yesterday and I noticed there are 2 scratches in the
head right where it appears to leak. They are not deep scratches but you
can definately feel them with your fingernail and they are easily visible
to the eye.

I was thinking of getting a thin piece of wood and wrapping it in sandpaper
to slowly smooth the surface out.

Opinions?
