Afternoon everyone, had a couple of quick questions for you all, hoping there might be on or two answers out there. I was rebuiling the wiper motor for the '73 the other day, I found a wire had pulled loose from the gear housing, either from the motor laying around for a year or from over aggresive cleaning. It's a larger gauge red wire, it runs from a black epoxy filled module that is bolted to the wiper gear housing, it "appears" to have been soldered to a terminal with a black/yellow wire that runs out the pigtail to the steering column/wiper switch. It is a very lousing solder job, clumpy and dirty with rosin. Maybe a repair at one point? Does anyone know if it indeed is sharing a post with the black/yellow wire? This black "module" dosen't appear in any of my manuals, but it does have the VW part number "311 955 203" on it. Pictures of the whole mess are at "http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/waltee@prodigy.net/lst?.dir=/Notchback+pics&.src=ph&.view=t";. Next, any idea if the Notchback popout window assembly shares the same hinge rubber gasket as the Squarebacks? I believe Mr. Adney has these for SB's, do they belong on the Notchback hinges, and do you have any repro's for sale? Thanks... Lastly, does anyone know of a similar profile for the rubber seal that runs around the perimeter of the spare tire well? Mine is beyond salvaging and I'm open to any suggestions that might make a replacement or substitute rubber. Thanks again and I appreciate any help. David Walters '73 1600 L Notchback S.
