Maybe the mounting hardware is similar? I checked in Halfords today and yes their Ferodo rear Volvo 240 pads are perfect! The ones I saw, rather than having a thin piece of brake material on the back, had a painted on rubbery stripe- like evostick (but probably not!) Other wise they were perfect. BUT they were of course much more expensive (16GBP as opposed to 5) and much coarser and more crumbly looking. Also I checked their MK1 Golf pads and they were exactly the same! (except no rubbery stripe and they have a small rectangular cutout in the back, which wouldn't matter to us) So I think the Volvo are perfect, but the early Golf (common to lots of other wc VWs too) are very nearly as perfect too! So thats good- what with the drum shoes being exactly the same as 1303 fronts, should be braking cheaply and for many years to come! As for the hardware I'm still at a loss but searching- Per did you find out anything bout the Volvo?
