[T3] Weber 42 DNF dual carb. kit
<x-flowed>Everett>>Dual-barrel, used for about 2,000 miles 9-10 years ago then
shelved so they will probably need a rebuild. What is the fair value?
If they are 42 DCNF they would probably bring some money on ebay. If
they are stamped as BERG SPECIALS, they are worth more. I was trying
to buy a set of those, but there is a guy on ebay that outbids no
matter what. I think I have seen them go for anywhere from $150-$400.
I think the linkage is very difficult to find, and so are the
manifolds, especially the type3 manifolds. Most guys adapt or make
there own linkage. Art at ACE is supposedly very good with these
carbs, and has all the parts.
I paid $150 for the 40's that I found at a big non-VW swap, and they
will need a rebuild and one is missing a throttle stop.
Some people love these carbs, and some people hate them. I have not
tried them, and parts are not as readily available as IDFs.
Somebody else will hopefully have better info or advice.
