[T3] Oil change in my fastback - mysterious pieces!

<x-flowed>I just changed the oil in my '70 fastback and I found several pieces 
of what appears to be a black O-ring that were broken.  The O-ring 
measures 3/8" in diameter and is 1/8" thick.  Should I be worried? 
Engine has never been rebuilt and just turned 100k.
