I did the changeover 15 years ago...  I recall doing some changing of the
washers perhaps but basically everything from the 72 went into the 71
without a problem... you DO want to use the correct bolts for that year
belt.

Jim can probably help... he'll remember these little changes... Spike??
Perhaps I just mashed it into the carpet but I dont remember one.
