[T3] Dampening Options

<x-flowed>I am shopping for sound dampening for my Square, doors and floor. I was thinking of getting the 3-Ply Aluminum, since it has a higher DLF factor. Any opinions?

This is from the McMaster website:

Adhesive-Back Damping Sheets

Just peel back the pressure-sensitive adhesive backing to bond these sheets to surfaces such as ducts, pipes, and enclosures to control vibration.

Polymeric mastic sheet is asphalt-based; all others are made of super-flexible, thermoplastic PVC. Chemical-resistant thermoplastic sheets are USDA compliant for incidental food contact.

Sheet/Thick/Size/DLF/Temperature Range/Llbs. sq. ft./Color/Part Number/Price Each

3-Ply Aluminum 0.020" 24" x 48" 0.21 -65¡ to +250¡F 0.4 Silver 9709T25 $20.16

Viscoelastic Asphalt 0.050" 24" x 54" 0.13 -20¡ to +180¡F 0.4 Black 9709T26 22.50

Polymeric Mastic 0.070" 32" x 54" 0.10 -30¡ to +300¡F 0.7 Black 9709T19 14.62

Thank you,

Gary Gamboa

Yah, oil light has always worked... Maybe when I get some more time I'll
follow it to the front of the car and let everyone know :)

Does your oil light work?? There is also a red wire coming out of that branch of the loom, that goes to the aux. air regulator on an automatic tranny equiped car. The wire is there and unused on a manual tranny car.

Coming out of that branch, there should be:
Heavy Red = D+ on generator
smaller green = DF on generator
smaller brown = ground screw on generator
small blue/green = oil pressure switch
small red = aux. air regulator on automatic (unused on manual)

Hope this helps.
